Client Testimonials

Hear from our satisfied customers

Blake Allen

"Great experience with Alex with designing and welding my outdoor shelter. It has stood the test of high winds in cyclonic conditions absolutely stoked. Highly recommend for any welding or products built and manufactured by the company."

Joe Greybeard

"I cannot recommend Longshot Engineering highly enough. The team listened to the instructions for both of my trailers, for one to create a heavy duty tailgate, custom spare tyre mount and hand crane, For the other trailer it was to reseal and make water tight. Both trailers required rust repairs.
Both trailers are now back in action. The tailgate job required more significant rust repair, strengthening and custom fabrication to suit my very specific and custom requirments.
Well done."

Stuart Mcmullen

Fixed a float i'd properly f#$%d in a timely and well done manner towed it 400kms the next day without issue. X
Can't recommend enough."

FAQs

Do you build custom horse floats and goosenecks?

Yes. We specialise in custom angle load, straight load and gooseneck horse floats built tough for Australian conditions. Tell us your requirements and we’ll design and build exactly what you need.

Do you offer mobile welding and on-site repairs?

Yes. We provide mobile welding, rust repairs, chassis fixes and trailer servicing across Toowoomba, Clifton, Warwick and the Darling Downs. We come to you.

What materials do you work with?

Steel and aluminium fabrication. We also work with galvanised materials and can incorporate checker plate, heavy-duty components and custom brackets.

How long does a custom build take?

Lead times vary depending on complexity. Simple repairs are usually quick. Custom horse floats and trailers typically take 4–8 weeks. We’ll give you a clear timeline when quoting.

Do you repair existing trailers and floats?

Yes. Rust repairs, floor replacements, chassis strengthening, brake and suspension work are all standard. We regularly restore older floats to better-than-new condition.

 Can you build prospecting tools?

Yes. We make hand-forged crevice tools, plow disc picks and expanded mesh classifying baskets — designed and tested by prospectors for Australian goldfields.

Where are you located?

Our workshop is at 1562 Clifton-Leyburn Rd, Ellangowan QLD. We service the entire Darling Downs region.
